Edmondson Interiors certainly design and create super kitchens; so it seemed the logical choice to serve superfood canapé at our New Kitchen showroom Opening Event on February 11th from 6-9 pm.

So what are these superfoods that we should all be eating more of ?
Jamie Oliver has a New best selling Superfood Recipe book and he claims to have lost weight and feel better than ever having started to incorporate many superfoods into his daily life.
Our client, the super talented Joyce O’Hagan head chef at Jackson Gilmour has agreed to do some special superfood canapés in Goudhurst Kent on February Thursday 11th February from 6-9 pm.
Joyce like many professional chefs is a great fan of Gaggenau cooking appliances. At our event she’ll be preparing her canapés using the Gaggenau 400 steam oven and the Gaggenau hot plate. Jackson Gilmour are hugely experienced in the events catering world providing food for celebrities and royalty in many top London venues.
So what special healthy and delicious treats are on the menu at the event? For starters this canapé has no less than 3 superfoods in it.
Mini jacket potato filled with roasted carrot, ginger, miso and chia seeds (v) (g)
Chia seeds
With more omega-3 fatty acids than salmon, a wealth of antioxidants and minerals, a complete source of protein and more fibre than flax seed, the seeds have been dubbed a “dieter’s dream”, “the running food”, “a miracle”, and “the ultimate super food”, by athletes.They claim chia reduces inflammation, improves heart health, and stabilises blood sugar levels. Lowering cholesterol, and reducing your risk of heart disease.
Ginger
Historically, ginger has a long tradition of being very effective in alleviating symptoms of gastrointestinal distress. Modern scientific research has revealed that ginger possesses numerous therapeutic properties including antioxidant effects, an ability to inhibit the formation of inflammatory compounds, and direct anti-inflammatory effects.
Miso
Miso has been eaten in Japan and China for many centuries and has been attracting the attention of many of us because of its health and anti-aging benefits. It reduces risks of cancer and has a strengthening effect on the Immune system. It also helps maintain nutritional balance – full of nutrients, beneficial bacteria and enzymes, miso provides: protein, vitamin B12, vitamin B2, vitamin E, vitamin K, tryptophan, choline, dietary fiber, linoleic acid and lecithin. It also helps reduce menopausal complaints – the isoflavones in miso have been shown to reduce hot flashes.
Blueberry
Packed with phytochemicals such as anthocyanin. Blueberries are being studied for their powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that may help protect against diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes and Alzheimer’s.

Nut encrusted chicken with a maca thai dipping sauce (g)
Maca
Mineral deposits which includes calcium supplement, mineral magnesium, and iron are all located in Maca, in combination with C vitamin and nutritional vitamins B1, B2, B6, and B12.
All this lovely food will be served with the delicious wine by local vineyard Gusbourne. They recently won the English wine producer of the year and chosen by the Buckingham Palace as their wine of choice. We will be telling you more about their wines in our next blog post.
