A lovely start to the New Year was having photos of an Edmondson interiors contemporary kitchen hand-picked by editors to be featured in not one but two, editorial interior design ideabooks on the homepage of Houzz.
We were chosen as the principal photo on the feature 10 of the best kitchen islands.
A photo of the same kitchen was also chosen for another feature on Colourful Decorating Ideas for Creative Kitchens.
Houzz is a website and app that acts as a hub for home improvement, featuring seemingly countless pictures of homes and design ideas which can be flicked through until something catches the eye. The couple who started the company 5 years ago,when they spotted a gap in the market when trying to find quality suppliers and ideas for their own home improvement project, are now listed among the hi tech sector’s power couples.
The galleries of kitchens, living rooms, gardens and extensions are mostly put up by architects, builders and interior decorators. The site includes details of lamps, beds and tables used to create the effect – in effect, the portfolios of home improvement professionals.
On the other side is the Houzz 25 million users, who use the galleries to find what they are looking for, write reviews on their preferred suppliers or to link up with professionals.
Houzz is designed to bridge the gap between homeowners frustrated at being unable to explain what they want and professionals struggling to interpret clients’ ideas.
Edmondson Interiors have only recently started adding more of our photos to our Houzz profile and in November 2015 we also had one of our pantries featured on another editorial selection. 10 sleek looks for a stylish pantry.
