Project Description
KENT COUNTRY HOUSE
CLASSIC
The Brief
Clean lines for this Kent Country House, nothing pretentious, masses of dedicated storage space. Colours and materials to be soft and light. Could the kitchen still have a traditional edge to acknowledge that is set in a Kent Country House?
Design Concept
The Aga is a soft blue which helped to blend it into this country kitchen designed by Simon Gray. The island and breakfast bar were kept square. The pendant lights, kitchen stools and the quarter turned painted corner posts to each side of the Aga softened the look with some curves… Just enough to stop it looking angular. Oak has been used for the fridge freezer doors and the larder cupboard, yet it is also true to say that this is a modern kitchen.
The Solution
This kitchen has enhanced a delightful Country House. Spend time looking at the small variations in colours. The porcelain floor melds into the design as do the wall tiles behind the Aga. We have some very happy clients here. There is a practicality about the design with a large well appointed larder cupboard and a number of wide deep drawers for pans and china and cooking bowls. It is a personal, carefully constructed solution. There are details that make it a sheer pleasure to use. This design has evolved from putting in many hours. We will be proud of it for many years to come!
