The Brief
Client was specific that they would like a Shaker style kitchen with a central island looking more like a farmhouse table. This needed to be a family friendly practical country kitchen.
Design Concept
Very keen to keep the original ‘feel’ of the property. The kitchen is a new extension at the back of the house but it was built with the ‘old/traditional’ style in mind.
The Solution
A fabulous family kitchen with lots of practical solutions. Starting with an oak topped island reflects the oak frame in the rest of the house and helps bring the old and new together. Offering plenty of storage and the over handing lights provide a touch a glamour to the kitchen. Limestone tiles from Mandarin Stone, copper finished pendants above the island, Fisher and Paykel French door fridge freezer next to a tall cupboard with a glass door and a superb mantle above the cooking area – everything works together to create this ‘elegantly classic’ look.
